Links with Parents
An open door policy has been adopted, where parents are free to come in and
discuss their child’s work at any time by prior arrangements. In addition there
are three annual, formal meetings, the first during the Autumn Term to discuss
any problems, answer questions, to share expectations for the forthcoming year
and to set personal targets.
During the Easter Term we look at the children's work, progress, the way ahead,
and finally during the summer term we discuss the yearly written report, any
STATS results and also look at the children's work.
Parents also have the opportunity to see their children's developments through
homework which is set on a regular basis to all pupils. Each child has a school
(home work) reading bag, the expectation being that each child reads daily.
Other home work will stern from classroom work, be an extension of class room
work or be home work providing fun. Occasionally should a teacher feel that a
child has not given of his best as regards classroom work, this work will be
completed at home. The Home/School Agreement adds to the understanding and
working partnership between the School, parents and children. (copy enclosed)
Mother and Toddler
A successful mother and toddler (below school age) group is held at the school
every Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock. A warm welcome is extended to all.
