Links with the Community

In a small school such as Llandwrog, the school's community links are extremely important.  We try our utmost to introduce the children to the wealth of their environment, both human and natural wealth.

Many links have been forged with the community, with an open invitation to the Thanksgiving Service at the Church and Christmas concert.  The school choir took part in ‘service to open Christian Aid Week.

In a small, close knit society it is important to share our opportunities.  The Urdd, Dragon Sports, Church Club, Ti a Fi and Merchaid y Wawr a gardening and flower arranging night classes have made active use of the School hall.  We are extremely fortunate in our support from the local community for all our activities.  We also have close links with Glynllifon Park and the children have enjoyed a wide variety of activities within the park itself.

 Link with Industry

Even though we are a small, rural community we have forged links with industry through our project to design, print and sell Christmas Cards.  The School Council also run a fruit shop which offers a healthy snack for everyone.

 Secondary School

The transfer from primary to secondary school's made as smooth as possible for the children.  They are able to visit the school on several occasions, they spend a day experiencing what, in store when they follow a days lessons at the school.  Teachers from the secondary sector visit the primary school to meet the children and answer their many questions.  The pupils fill in small booklets about themselves, which are shared with their new teachers.

Parents also have plenty of information about the secondary schools through similar to this one explaining the organisation of the school, they can also visit the school to meet the head and members of staff in an informal meeting when they pick their children up after the full day visit.
